FRRO Rules & Regulations
All foreign nationals staying in India for more than 180 days must register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival. Failure to do so may result in penalties.
Foreigners must provide a valid passport, visa copy, address proof, passport-sized photographs, and additional documents depending on their visa type.
The entire registration process must be completed through the e-FRRO portal. Applicants should upload required documents and wait for approval without visiting FRRO offices physically.
Any change in residential address, visa status, or personal information must be updated with FRRO within 24 hours to avoid penalties.
Failure to register, update details, or comply with FRRO regulations can lead to fines, visa cancellation, or deportation.
Before leaving India, foreigners must ensure all FRRO formalities are complete. Pending violations can lead to difficulties at immigration checkpoints.
